In 1997, members Scott Stapp, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips recorded their debut album My Own Prison beginning an epic string of albums earning Creed multiple spots on various Billboard charts, a Grammy for Best Rock Song (2001’s “With Arms Wide Open”) and the rare RIAA Diamond certification for selling 11 million albums of Human Clay. In 2004 the band went on an official hiatus with Stapp venturing into solo work while the remaining members formed Alter Bridge. They reunited in 2009 for a tour in support of their latest album, Full Circle. Since then, the band have been on hiatus. Across their releases, Creed have sold 28 million albums in the U.S. and 53 million worldwide. They are credited as being the 9th best-selling artist of the 1990s.

My Own Prison was Creed’s debut album, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Originally released in 1997, it was the album that catapulted the band to stardom and has gone on to sell over 15 million copies worldwide and is certified 6x platinum. The album features the hit singles “My Own Prison,” “Torn,” “What’s This Life For,” and “One”.
