Eightfold Path (Gatefold/neon orange)

Description

Release: 05-05-2024

New Zealand multi-instrumentalist Craig Williamson returns with his newly formed project Dead Shrine. The ex-Arc Of Ascent, ex-Datura and current Lamp Of The Universe leader brings us ‘The Eightfold Path.’ Playing out like a heavy rock and psychedelic bonfire, the 8 tracks roll through two sides of epic nod on the way to the absolute blowout that is ‘Incantations Call’ at the end. For lovers of his aforementioned bands, this is a fuzz-laden ’70s acid rock album from start to finish.

Number 4 on the Doom Charts:
“… with ‘The Eightfold Path’ he brings us a storm of heavy rock in the likeness of the pioneers of the 70’s. A raw and primitive rock, in which the attacks of rage are counteracted with lysergic atmospheres in murky songs impregnated with fuzz. Acid rock without too many additives, which rides on the back of a proto-metal steed over paths carved by stoner riffs, and an atmosphere evocative of the sound of the early 70’s. Partially giving up his devotional songs and that mysticism that appears in the works under the name of LAMP OF THE UNIVERSE, Craig takes up the heavy impulses of his beginnings on DATURA.” (Roberto Lucas – Denpa Fuzz)

“The Eightfold Path is an sublime album packed full of attitude and first rate grooves from start to finish. Yeah, the whole feel of the album can be rough and ready in places but that’s one of the album’s main strengths. This album sounds REAL and has a sense of genuine warmth even if it is made of multiple strong strands of WEEDIAN flavours. This is an absolute gem of an album and could only come from the Doom/Stoner Metal Underground Scene. Add this to your record collection now. It’s seriously that great.” (Steve Howe – Outlaws Of The Sun)

“‘The Eightfold Path’ is a large-scale monolith, reigning among the immensity of the universal black abyss through that countenance as hypnotic as it is heroic in its harmonies.” (La Habitación 235)

=Please note, the LP’s have been opened to check colour; these are unplayed!=
