**A missing link between late ’60s hard-psych and early Southern rock** **A true lost chapter of American psychedelic rock history—recorded in 1969, unheard for decades, and finally released** **Featuring guitar player Larry Reinhardt who would join Iron Butterfly and co-found Captain Beyond** “…A couple days later the Second Coming was going to play at the National Guard Armory, and we all went. I was impressed with the Second Coming and with the Load, which was led by Rhino, who was a bad dude. [Larry “Rhino” Reinhardt went on to be a member of both Iron Butterfly and Captain Beyond]. He looked like a little wizard, little bitty cat with hair out to there, standing in front of those giant Marshall amps, and they had a hell of a drummer named Monty [Young] and Richard Price, a great bass player who never wore shoes no matter how hot or cold it was. Those three cats were bad, and the Second Coming was also a hell of a band…” – Jaimoe (Allman Brothers Band founding member), as told to writer Alan Paul in his memoir, which will be released in 2027.
