Re: 16-02-2024
Established in 1981, Slayer emerged as a force to be reckoned with, introducing a groundbreaking fusion of metal and punk. Their sound, characterized by its heaviness, speed, and darkness, not only defined a genre but also embodied a defiant attitude. Throughout their history, Slayer maintained an unwavering commitment to their extreme and focused musical assault, resisting mainstream influences and remaining steadfastly crushing and brutal.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, “Show No Mercy” stands as the debut studio album by the American thrash metal pioneers, Slayer. Initially released on December 3, 1983, by Metal Blade Records, the album left an indelible mark on the metal landscape. In honor of this milestone, Metal Blade Records is set to release a special edition vinyl set titled “Show No Mercy (40th Anniversary Edition).” This limited edition set includes a Gold Black Dust LP meticulously mastered for vinyl from the original tapes by Patrick W. Engel at TEMPLE OF DISHARMONY. The package also features a slipmat, poster, show flyers, signing card, and an LP booklet containing the story of “Show No Mercy,” written by J. Bennett. This commemorative release serves as a testament to Slayer’s enduring impact on the world of heavy metal.
